We here at The Carlisle Law Firm hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during this crisis situation involving COVID-19. Due to the guidelines established by the CDC, Gov. Newsom, and the regulatory powers of the State of California and the U.S. Government, there are many changes to our court's procedures and systems which may impact your hearing dates and locations.

The information below is related to family law and domestic violence matters (information on other types of cases can be found on the Court's websites).

Placer County Court is continuing all matters set between March 18, 2020 and April 10, 2020, domestic violence, for 8 weeks. The Court will be assigning the new hearing dates. The Auburn Historic Courthouse is closed during this same time frame.

Sacramento County Court has closed the entire courthouse from March 19 until March 30, 2020 unless it is an domestic violence matter, and all scheduled matters in family law from March 18, 2020 through April 16, 2020, with the exception of domestic violence restraining order matters, and family law emergency matters are being continued out. There is no specific time frame that Sacramento County Superior Court is continuing these matters to, we are finding the Court is just selecting dates for the hearings which have been into May 2020.

El Dorado County Superior Court will continue all Department of Child Support Services hearings set for March 17, 2020 through April 10, 2020, to a date after April 13, 2020. All custody and domestic violence restraining orders shall remain as set and the Court will reschedule as it deems necessary any other hearing.

If you have a hearing during the above time frames, someone from our office will be in touch with you to discuss the matter. The physical office will be closed per the CA shelter-in-placer order, however, we will be available by email and telephone. Telephone hours for the office are temporarily 9-12:30 pm Monday through Thursday. The temporary office phone number is (916) 305-1316.
